When the Embassy of France was built in 1985, then-President François Mitterand specifically asked that its construction include a space dedicated to the arts and culture. In the years since, La Maison Française has not only evolved as the heart of French cultural activities in Washington, it has also become one of the most desirable special occasion venues in the D.C. metro area. The facility, known for being sophisticated and fun, has gained a reputation for exquisite hospitality and diverse program offerings.

Parking

Street parking around the Embassy is free on Saturdays. There is also a paid parking garage at Georgetown MedStar Health - Entrance 1 - at 3800 Reservoir Road NW ($20 maximum).

Public Transportation

Bus

If you catch the bus to the Embassy, two Metro Bus lines, D2 & D6, are available and will take you right to the main doors.

Train

The closest METRO stop is Dupont Circle on the Red Line. From there, you can walk to P St NW, between 20th & 21st, and take the D6 Metro Bus toward Sibley Hospital. OR, you may be able to find a taxi at Dupont Circle, which is roughly 2 miles from La Maison Française.
